So I know I haven't posted in an awfully long time. I seem to limit my photography more to 'events' nowadays such as traveling, camping, hiking, and such. (Facebook is probably partly to blame too, as I joined a few months ago and started posting galleries over there).

Anyway, I was just looking through some of the photos I've taken in the last couple months and realized I really have no excuse for not posting some of them.

I absolutely love this particular image. I took it during a game of disc golf at Diamond X here in Billings. This is my friend tossing off of "Black 18". The basket is nearly 1,000 feet away if I remember correctly, and it is a very steep downhill throw that requires a great deal of accuracy to come anywhere close to landing by the basket. The sun was setting quickly and the light was just perfect. I was happy to be there with my camera - right place, right time.
After finishing the hike to Slough Lake (previous photo), the clouds and rain set in again (I also got rained on during the hike - the thunder and lightning kind). This view is not far from the trail head. It was really spectacular watching the clouds tumble through the cliff tops.
I took a hike today in the Absaroka-Beartooth Mtns. The trailhead for Slough Lake is right near the base of East Rosebud Lake. Today I hiked in about 2.5 miles. The trail is often used to access Granite Peak, the highest point in Montana, and you can follow the trail itself all the way to Mystic lake on the other side of the mountain.
